Ordered, That the Ambassador from the Lords the States
General of the United Provinces of the Netherlands have
Audience given him in this House to morrow at eleven of the
clock.
Ordered, That William Lenthal, Speaker of the Parliament,
be, and is hereby nominated, constituted, and appointed Keeper
of the Great Seal of the Commonwealth of England, To
have, hold, exercise, and enjoy the said Office to the said William
Lenthal from this 23 of May, 1659. for eight days as appeareth
by the Copy it self.
Monday, 23 May.
Ordered by the Parliament, That William Lenthal, Speaker
of the Parliament, be, and is hereby nominated, constituted,
and appointed Keeper of the Great Seal of the Commonwealth
of England, To have, hold, exercise, and enjoy the
said Office to the said William Lenthal this 23 day of May,
1659. for eight days, from thence next ensuing; and that in
as full, ample, and beneficial manner, to all intents and purposes
as any Lord Chancellor, Lord Keeper, or Lords Commissioners
of the Seal, may, might, should, or ought to have had,
held, exercised, or enjoyed the same.

The Ambassador, &c. in pursuance of the former Order
of the House, had Audience given him this day in the House,
who is referred to the Council of State to hear what he hath
further to say, who are to present it to the House.
Wednesday, May 25.
Mr. Brewster reports the draught of a Briefe for a charitable contribution
for the Inhabitants of South would alias Soalbay in the County of
Suffolk, for their losses, which was this day read.
Ordered, That Mr. Speaker Keeper of the great Seal, be, and is hereby
authorized to pass this Briefe, ingrossed in Parchment under the
great Seal of the Commonwealth of England, and this order shall be
his Warrant in that behalf.
