Numb. 293.
THE
KINGDOMES
Weekly Intelligencer,
SENT ABROAD
To Prevent mis-information.
From Tuesday,January 2. to Tuesday, January the 9. 1648.
I Made mention in my last, that the House of commons had chosen
commissioners for the Triall of the king, but I did not give
you their Names, Which indeed might be purposely omitted, in regard
of the alteration that Was like to follow, as since it hath appeared.
The House of Lords having layd aside the said ordinance,
and so none of them to be present at the Triall of the King, And
the three Judges being also to be left out, Because they have taken
Oaths to particular ingagements, and so by raising scruples to satisfie
their Minde, it may be an occasion of Delay, and hinder the
more speedy prosecution of the Triall. It may therefore suffice to
give unto you, that most of the Members now sitting are chosen to
be the commissioners, and most of the Collonels of the Army, and
the Lord Generall himselfe; And for the City of London, Alderman
Pennington, Sir John Woolaston, Alderman Fouks, Alderman
Gibbs, and some others are chosen to be Commissioners.
Tuesday Ian.2.
THe vote for the Triall of the King by such and so many of such,
viz. Lords, Commons, Officers of the Army, and Aldermen
