set up for exposition of the Scriptures, and 3 very raremen were nominated, (viz.)
Dr.Reynolds,M.Caroll,and M.Tho.Goodwin.
The House referred it to the Committee for Oxford, to consider how the said
Lectures may be set up and maintained.
The House of Commons put in, 4 persons Col. Scroope, Lieut Col.Kelsey,M.Appleby
and M.Goade to be visitors for the University of Oxford.
A Report was made to the Councell of State concerning 3 Castles in Kent (viz.)
Sandown, Deane and Waymore, which want reparations, their having been viewed
by some that say it will cost 2000li.to repaire them sufficiently, but others say much
lesse will do it.
The House of Commons referred it to the Councel of State to take care and allow
for the repaire of the Castles aforesaid, provided the same exceed not a set value allowed
by the House for the same.
The Act passed for the setling of the Militia for the Hamblets of the Tower, with
the rules for,and names of the Commissioners for the same, Maj.Gen.Skippon, col.
West, &c. It is ordered to be Printed and Published.
From the Head Quarters Letters that the Lord Generall is Gone from Oxford to
Redding, and from thence to odium, and so on toward Portsmouth, to reduce the
Levellers.

A motion was made to the House of Commons concerning the children of the
late King, in regard that the Gentlemen lately appointed to take the care of them,
Petitioned to be excused. And the House Ordered that businesse to be taken into
consideration on Friday next.
The House was moved in the behalfe of divers Reformado Officers, that are of
other Nations as Dutch and Walloown contained in a list. And the House Ordered
that it should be taken into consideration on Friday next.
And the Commons Ordered to referre the businesse concerning Widdowes, upon
the orders of reference that passed last weeke to be taken into consideration on Saturday
next.
The House of Commons passed an Order for an Act to be brought in for deligates,
to heare and determine the businesse concerning pretended marriage, &c.
Concerning Sir Mathew Mennes,his Daughter, &c. some Instructions passed therin,
Some Instructions passed referred to the Committee for probate of Wills, &c. About
Allemony, &c.
There were some desire made to the House of Commons this day from the City
of London. concerning some particular cases, of moneys due, by the State desired
to be doubled upon the Deanes and chapters Lands, whereupon the House Passed
