MERCURIUS
PRAGMATICVS
Communicating Intelligence from all Parts,
touching all Affaires, Designes, Humours and
Conditions throughout the Kingdome.
Especially from Westminster, and the Head-Quarters.
Form Tuesday Aprill, 24. to Tuesday, May 1. 1649.
What? have wee still a Stage for Sin?
Within Westminster Hall;
Where this Rebellion did begin,
And thence must have its fall?
Faction (to Treason the first Step,)
Set Traytors in the gap;
And then Ambition made them Leap
Into Rebellions lap.
Which done the' aspir'd the Crowne to gaine,
And did for Eight yeares space,
Lay traynes of Ireason to obtaine,
Both Scepter, Sword, and Mace.
Which now they'got; and in their hands,
By Sacriedge have tane;
The Kings revenue and the Lands,
Of Bishop, Priest, and Deane.
