THe coming of Generall Monck to this
Town is a welcome business, and he
was received with all demonstrations
of affection. At his arivall, he
went first to Dalkeith, to give Order
about the Forces, and receive an Account of
things from him who had bin Commander in
chief. After that, his Resolution being known
to come hither, the Magistrates of the Town
provided to receive him with such honor as became
them in duty to Express. He and his Officers,
were met at the Towns end by the Provost
and Bayliffs, and the English Judges in their Formalities;
with whom he and his Officers, having
