------It à verters Seria. {Horat. de. Ar. Poet.
From Thursday January II. to Thursday January 18.1654.
From Edenburgh, January 4.
I Sent you formerly an Account of a
new discovery made here of divers dissatisfied
persons of our Army, who (it
seems) had appointed a Meeting, wherin
they intended to debate, the business of
the Government, & deliver their minds
thereupon. It is said, this debating of
things was but a Prologue to some Design
of altering the state of the Army,
and that the aim of it was, in the first place to have secured
the Commander in chief, when things should bee ripe, and
then to have put us upon new Courses, dangerous to the Government,
What they were in particular to have been, I
am wholly ignorant, and its known but to few; but in generall
thus Matters are discoursed: When persons are brought
to Tryall, we shall know more.
