SOme endevour was used lately by Middleton
in the Highlands, to have made them all
break out again. His principall Argument,
that now the King was landed in England
and in the head of a gallant Army to second
them in their Undertakings. This some of
them said was too good news to be true; and they had already
bin deceived so often with stories of that kinde, that
they were not willing to credit any such news or information,
and therefore excused themselves from running any
new hazards of life and estate. The chiefs drawing back thus,
the people were not forward, but looked upon all he said as
a delusion. It is said that Middleton seeing their temper, is
not willing to venture much longer amang them.

He has added two more Commissioners to them that
were sent before on his behalf. They are Highland Treaters
