From St Andrews, May 28:
THE newes with us is very little at present.
The Lord Lorn, Lord Ray, and mac Naughton
have submitted, which may prevent our
marching into the Hills this Summer; but
more of that in my next.
And from Dumferling they write, That
Mac Cloud and other Lairds were come in thither; who are
going to the Generall to make their capitulation.
From Paris June 2. 1655.
The 21 of the last the Sieur de St Brisson, Provost, and Viscount
of Paris, went from hence to Compeigne, and from
thence to the Army, with a hundred Voluntiers, all Citizens
sons of Paris. The same day the Parlament met upon the
late Edicts and Declarations, and upon their liberty of meeting
as often as need shall be, about the necessary service of
the King, and of the state and people: whereupon they
agreed a most humble Remonstrance should be sent to the
